Recognized as a Center of Development in Forestry, SLSU, through the College of Agriculture, produces board topnotchers and globally competitive students and graduates in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and environmental science. College of Agriculture (CAg) has research, development, and extension undertakings advocating sustainability and conservation in various areas, particularly in Mt. Banahaw. SLSU supports these initiatives through its research centers: (1) Organic Agriculture R&D Center, (2) R&D Center for Mt. Banahaw Studies, and (3) Apiculture Processing Center for Organic Agriculture; and research facilities: (1) Tissue Culture Laboratory, (2) Clonal Nursery and (3) Soils Laboratory.

From the establishment of the SLSU College of Agriculture, the college has been a center of excellence advocating for the environment through research, development, and extension initiatives, and partnerships with various stakeholders, which have inevitably produced top-notch graduates. In 2024, among the notable accomplishments are as follows:
- Participation of Ms. Khailie C. Mendoza, BS in Agriculture student majoring in Crop Science, in the 2024 Summer Enrichment Program held at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from July 21-31, 2024. Ms. Mendoza was the 8th agriculture student to undergo the summer enrichment program or study tour since 2013.
- Participation of Dr. Juanita T. San Jose in the 24th Biennial Conference and General Assembly Nagoya Protocol in Nagoya, with the theme: Wise and harmonized use of bioresources in the international community, Nagoya University in Nagoya, Japan, from December 2-6, 2024.
- The delegates from the Glenville State University (GSU), West Virginia, USA, visited SLSU College of Agriculture on May 15, 202,4, to conduct academic, research, and cultural exchange with SLSU.
- The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) partnered with SLSU to highlight Mt. Banahaw’s cultural and natural significance on a global scale.
- The Thai Nguyen University, Vietnam, signed a memorandum of understanding with SLSU for academic and research collaboration with College of Agriculture and other colleges.
- Implementation of the research project on Japanese melon growth under low natural light conditions, a collaborative project of SLSU and Bukid Amara, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) CALABARZON.
- Research funded by the DOST - Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD), “Reproductive Phenology, Propagation, and Habitat Characterization of threatened and economically valuable flora in Mt. Banahaw de Lucban,” by Amalia E. Almazol, Ronald C. Garcia, Francisco Beltran, Eraldwin Dimailig, and Kathreena Gutierrez.
