The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), located in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, is a public higher education institution established through Republic Act No. 7932. Tracing its roots to the Bunawan Agricultural High School, ASSCAT has evolved into a premier academic institution in the Caraga region, widely recognized for its strong specialization in agriculture and technology. As mandated, the college offers advanced education, professional training, and technical instruction in key fields such as agriculture, education, engineering, and related sciences. Guided by its vision to become a globally engaged institution for sustainable agriculture and innovation, ASSCAT is committed to providing quality and inclusive instruction, upholding excellence and ethical values, conducting dynamic research, and offering responsive community services that promote sustainable development.

The Institution is honored to be an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider by the CPD Council of Agriculture under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and to have earned ISO 9001:2015 Certification. 100% of its degree programs have received Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC), and approximately 25% of its student population is enrolled in the College of Agriculture. Most of the faculty’s research efforts are centered on agriculture, with particular focus on areas such as soil science, smart agricultural engineering, and related innovations. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and agricultural development, ASSCAT continues to play a significant role in shaping a self-reliant and progressive society, serving as a catalyst for transformation in Agusan del Sur and the broader Caraga region through education, research, and public service.
