UPM INNOHUB® Achievements to Market Validation Hub Programme

  • 124 projects involving researchers from various fields have undergone guided market validation research on their technology.
  • 81 start-up companies evolved from these projects.
  • 40 start-up companies licensed 68 intellectual properties from UPM.
  • 26 start-ups companies’ commercialised products emerged from licensed UPM’s intellectual properties.

Innovation Achievement

  • More than 2,419 IPs filed.
  • Clarivate South and Southeast Asia Innovation Awards 2021.
  • Awarded National Intellectual Property Awards: The Best Organisation for 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
  • 248 IP commercialised with gross sales of more than RM78.5 million (as of December 2024).
  • 40 start-up companies established under InnoHub Program- secured funds/ investments amounting RM22,992,035.03 until January 2025.

Collaborations and Partnerships

Smart Partnership with Industry to Create New Business Towards a Better Economy and Innovation Research

  • Lipidware Sdn. Bhd. (start-up) REMDII is available at 500 clinics and pharmacies in Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Malaysian Vaccine Pharmaceuticals Sdn. Bhd. has sold poultry vaccines to 20 countries since 1993 and licensed new technology from UPM.
